Primary illusions

Amanda Vanstone made some interesting points on Lateline last night. Firstly we can win with 48-5% of the two party preferred. Secondly, votes beyond the bare majority needed in a seat can bolster the primary figure. They are useless for election purposes and can turn the primary figure into an illusion. The passing Mormon wanting to use the toilet makes a bigger impression than Abbott, so there is hope. Kev is bringing Chinese tourists to North Queensland electorates. He needs to target the seats he wants to win and the seats he needs to keep , in similar ways. In the meantime there is talk of a royal tour. I must have done something really terrible in a previous life to deserve Abbott and his monarchy. Republicans and Social Democrats are stuffed for up to two terms if Abbott wins this election.
